Lys Hix is a counsellor for young people, children and parents. She partners parents and young people to support and steer them through difficult times.Parenting is one of the hardest jobs for which none of us receive any training. When our children are very young there is lots of external support, then as they grow older it can often seem that there is none. Many parents feel powerless to help their children who are bullied and suffering from particular stresses and anxieties. This is where I can help. My approach focuses on not only working with children on a one to one basis but also equipping parents to deal with problems that have arisen within their families. My work has been met with numerous successes, to the benefit of parents, children and schools alike. After my involvement with Hazelwood School, the headmaster reported the following,

One of my particular strengths is my ability to connect with young people. My service is particularly focused on parents and their children between the ages of 4 and 18, although I can also help people who don't fall in this age range. My approach involves a unique blend of guidance for parents alongside specialised counselling tailored to the needs of young people. I work mostly in Sevenoaks, Bromley, Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding area.
