Thank you for visiting my website.
As a parent with 2 grown up children I know parenting is not always a bed of roses. Often as my children and I muddled our way through the difficult times, it struck me there must be a better way to reduce the stress, the fear of becoming a bad parent and avoid the embarrassment that can result from a child that regularly exhibits difficult behaviour.
As a result, over many years, I've trained as a counsellor to help other parents and developed a framework that can improve, act as a guide and create fulfilling relationships in and out of the home.
If you've tried everything and are at your wits end I can give you some strategies to help.
My framework has worked for over 300 families who have worked together with me to find ways to improve communication between them and their children, through active listening and rewarding good behaviour.
I tend to use the term Life Coach rather than Counsellor as young people tend to think there must be something "freaky" about them if their parents want to send them to a Counsellor. Life Coaching is for people who want to do things differently or better.
All of my successes come from a firm foundation built around a relationship between you, me, and your child. I find the best way to see if we can build a framework that can work for your specific situation is through an initial conversation together, entirely on a no obligation basis. At the end of this call I will provide you with recommendations as to how you might achieve a fulfilling relationship with your child.
A few minutes of your time may save years of heartache.
My approach focuses on not only working with young people on a one to one basis but also equipping parents to deal with the stress and anxiety particular difficulties may have caused. Many parents feel the problems they thought were huge in the early years are nothing compared with the teenage years. If you are one of those I can help you.
My therapy is normally short term and focuses on the now.
One of my particular strengths is my ability to connect with young people.
The parent of a 12 year old boy who lacked confidence reported "Lys has an exceptional talent in helping young people to open up to her, recognising their issues and guiding them with strategies that they accept adopt and work! A BIG THANK YOU."

My service is particularly focused on parents and their children between the ages of 4 and 18, although I can also help people who don't fall in this age range. My approach involves a unique blend of guidance for parents alongside specialised counselling tailored to the needs of young people. I work in Kent mostly in Sevenoaks, Bromley, Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding area.
Parents are often pleasantly surprised how few sessions their child needs. This is due to the particular way in which I work as explained more on the "Help for Parents" page. For issues such as bullying one session can be enough.
I charge £45 for a session lasting one hour. - Bereavement. See case history 4.
